Democrat Josh Shapiro defeats GOP's Mastriano in Pennsylvania
The race was far less competitive than the Senate contest.
Pennsylvania Democratic Attorney General Josh Shapiro has triumphed over Republican Doug Mastriano in the race for the governor's mansion.
NBC called the race with 61% of the vote in. Shapiro won with 55.6% of the vote to Mastriano's 42.6%. The Democrat managed to widen a narrow lead to an impressive double digit advantage in the final weeks of the campaign.
The race was far less competitive than the Senate contest where Democratic Lt. Gov. John Fetterman faces off against the GOP's Dr. Mehmet Oz to replace retiring GOP Sen. Pat Toomey.
