DeSantis super PAC cancels Iowa, New Hampshire TV ads
The super PAC has faced significant difficulties in recent months amid the governor's falling poll numbers.
With the Iowa Caucus just weeks away, Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis's super PAC Never Back Down has canceled all of its ads in both the Hawkeye State and New Hampshire.
The super PAC has faced significant difficulties in recent months amid the governor's falling poll numbers. CEO Chris Jankowski stepped down in November and was later followed by campaign strategist Jeff Roe in December.
AdImpact Politics first reported the ad cancellations, which Never Back Down Chairman Scott Wagner later confirmed to The Hill.
"Never Back Down is laser focused on its core mission – running the most advanced grassroots and political caucus operation in this race and helping deliver the GOP nomination for Governor DeSantis who will deliver America from the disastrous policies of the Left," he told the outlet, adding that the nascent Fight Right group would step up on ad expenditures in its place.
Fight Right spokesperson Taryn Fenski told the outlet that the group planned to spend $2.5 million ahead of the Iowa Caucus.
DeSantis currently places second in Iowa with 18.6% support in the RealClearPolitics polling average, behind former President Donald Trump, who leads with 51.3%.
