Eleven students at a Los Angeles high school engaged in a brawl on Wednesday, resulting in two students stabbed and two more injured.

The Van Nuys High School brawl has thus far resulted in no fatalities, though three students were detained after the episode, Fox News reported.

"One incident like this one is one incident too many," Los Angeles Unified School District Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho said in a press conference. "This is one of those moments where you hold your breath and once you receive the call and you hope that the initial information is not as revealing or as bad as what actually occurred."

"All appropriate procedures were implemented according to District policy," the district stated. "In addition, our staff is well trained and regularly reviews all emergency procedures. We will continue to keep you informed throughout this process."

The district further stated that the lockdown would remain in place until law enforcement gave the "all-clear," but added that "there is no current threat to our campus and all student[s] and staff remain safe."

The school was still on lockdown as of press time.
