Abe Hamadeh fires back at primary rival's attack ads, says Masters has a 'Blake first' agenda
"I've got so much support here in Arizona. That's something that I love," Hamadeh said.
Arizona GOP congressional candidate Abe Hamadeh slammed primary rival Blake Masters' attack ads against him on Wednesday, calling his efforts "nasty."
"To hear a former friend like Blake Masters pile on with such a nasty attack is really disappointing," Hamadeh said on the Thursday edition of the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "But I've got so much support here in Arizona. That's something that I love."
Masters has released an ad attacking Hamadeh, claiming his parents were illegal immigrants from Syria. The ad also claimed Hamadeh supported Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer's amnesty bill.
"I want to support the America First movement," Hamadeh said. "I believe that Blake is not America First. I think he's 'Blake First.' And, you know, we just gotta keep on fighting. But the voters, I don't think they're gonna like this type of nasty attacks. They know who I am."
Hamadeh ran for Arizona Attorney General in 2022 while Masters ran for Senate. Masters lost to Democratic incumbent Mark Kelly and Hamadeh lost to current Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes.
Hamadeh also took a shot at Masters, saying he isn't from the state's eighth congressional district, where he's running.
"Blake Masters is from Tucson," he said "He's not even from the district. I grew up in the district. My family had a small business in the district. So you start to question the motives of why people are entering politics."
