Texas Democratic gubernatorial candidate Beto O'Rourke said he is postponing campaign events after he was hospitalized with a bacterial infection.

"While my symptoms have improved, I will be resting at home in El Paso in accordance with the doctors’ recommendations," O'Rourke tweeted Sunday. "I am sorry to have had to postpone events because of this, but promise to be back on the road with you as soon as I am able."

O'Rourke is trying to unseat Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott. He is a former 2020 Democratic presidential candidate and Texas congressman.
