Allies and advisers to President Joe Biden say him telling them about second-term goals show he's set on reelection bid but that he won't launch his campaign until the summer, according to CNN.

Three Democrat officials told the network there is, in fact, no official date for the 2024 presidential campaign announcement, but it's expected to be summer.

"In what I think is the unlikely chance that he ultimately decides not to run this time, he will need to do so soon enough that other candidates can get into the field to be competitive," said Delaware Democrat Sen. Chris Coons, according to CNN. "I am encouraging him to run, and I think he will run. But he will make that decision on his timeline, not mine."

A Democrat adviser told the network that Biden is in "no rush" to again be a candidate.

"What’s the upside?," the adviser asked, rhetorically.

Pennsylvania Democrat Rep. Brendan Boyle says he has "no doubt" President Biden will run "and win again."

“As far as when he exactly officially announces his reelection campaign, I couldn’t care less," Boyle also said. "It’s meaningless.”
