GOP congressional candidate Michael Maher is running for California's 21st District and says that America is suffering as a result of the failures of the Biden administration.

"Right now there are things that are facing our country," Maher said on the Monday edition of the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "We're a first world nation and I'm running on third world issues: basic public safety, basic infrastructure for clean water for some of our rural communities and reliable energy policies."

Maher is going up against incumbent Democratic Rep. Jim Costa, and recent polls show that Maher is only behind by roughly one point, according to Trafalgar Group.

"I think what's making people look at me as a candidate here is that I'm local," Maher said. What's going on in California is going on across the nation with rising gas prices and the cost of food in the grocery stores. We're a rural economy. It's farmland out here in California's 21st district and we also have Fresno, the largest metropolitan city in the valley and people are struggling, and it's time for change."

Maher said that the Hispanic community in his district has been very helpful, and many Hispanics are starting to migrate to the Republican Party.

"We are seeing that the Hispanic community has actually been a huge benefit to my race," Maher explained. "I'm a member of the Republican National Hispanic assembly."

"On the ground here, it's not just the farmers  the fastest growing farm ownership is actually in the Hispanic and Latino community," Maher continued. "There's so many other industries that are being affected by the reckless policies of Gavin Newsom here in the state and Joe Biden in this administration."

Maher said that his opponent is not a moderate and votes every time with the Democrats.

"The opponent that I'm running against has been lockstep voting 100% in line with this Biden agenda and Nancy Pelosi," Maher concluded. "People have had enough."
