Former Maryland Republican Gov. Hogan announces Senate bid
Maryland has not had a Republican senator in 37 years.
Former GOP Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan on Friday announced that he would be running for Senate.
Hogan said in a video posted to X that he is running for Senate “not to serve one party, but to try to be part of the solution: to fix our nation’s broken politics and fight for Maryland.”
Maryland has not had a Republican senator in 37 years.
Hogan used to be in leadership with the third-party movement No Labels, but stepped down last month, according to The Associated Press.
Hogan was a two-term governor in Maryland and was one of the Republicans who criticized former President Donald Trump during his time in office.
