Former Navy SEAL launches bid to oust Montana Democrat Sen. John Tester
Tester's seat is highly sought by Republicans seeking to take over the Senate.
Former Navy SEAL Team Leader Tim Sheehy on Tuesday announced his Republican campaign for Montana's U.S. Senate seat, posing a challenge to incumbent Democrat Sen. Jon Tester.
"I fought to protect our nation—I'm answering the call to serve again," Sheehy said in his announcement.
Sheehy, a decorated combat veteran, is also a businessman with four children and a 20,000-acre cattle ranch.
"Jon Tester has been in office for nearly a quarter of a century, and he’s lost sight of our Montana values," Sheehy also said, according to Fox News Digital. "Like any good politician, Jon talks one way but votes another. Montanans have had enough of these career politicians who are full of empty promises and are not representing our Montana values."
