Georgia Democratic candidate Shawn Harris and Republican Clayton Fuller advanced to an April runoff election after neither candidate was projected to win at least 50% of the vote on Tuesday in the state's 14th Congressional District to replace former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, according to The Associated Press.

Tuesday's election saw all candidates, regardless of party, running on one ballot. President Trump endorsed Fuller, a district attorney for the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit, in the election, The Hill reported.

Harris is a retired brigadier general and cattle producer, and won 41.5% of the vote with 53% of the vote tallied, while Fuller was at 33.5%. They are both projected to run in the April 7 runoff election.

The race included a total of 22 candidates across both parties, including independents, according to Ballotpedia. The district's heavily Republican leaning.

Greene left office in January amid a high-profile break with President Trump, whom she accused of reneging on his major campaign promises.
