Georgia incumbent Senate Democrat Raphael Warnock and Republican challenger Herschel Walker have agreed to one debate before their Nov. 8 general election showdown.

"I'm looking forward to it," Walker said Tuesday in a Twitter video. "I will see you there. Now you get a chance to tell us why you voted with [President] Joe Biden 96% of the time. And God bless."

The televised debate was reportedly set after Warnock agreed to terms set forth by Walker, the former NFL star who played college football for the University of Georgia.

The RealClearPolitics.com polls average has Walker and Warnock in a dead heat, with each having 46.8% of the vote.

Warnock campaign manager Quentin Fulks said his candidate is the best man to represent the people of Georgia and suggested that the debate, then the general election vote will end Walker's political career – at least for now.

“Someone had to put an end to Herschel Walker’s games, and today Reverend Warnock showed again why he is the best person for the job, agreeing to Walker’s preferred debate so Georgians would have at least one opportunity to see the clear choice they have in this election,” said Fulks, according to The Hill newspaper.

Fulks also suggested the possibility of at least one other debate before Election Day, saying Warnock remains hopeful Walker will "get on a debate stage at least one other time in either Macon or Atlanta."
