High-profile athletes endorse Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for president
Kennedy abandoned the Democratic primary last month and decided to run in the general election as an independent.
Three high-profile former professional athletes are endorsing independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in his 2024 bid for the White House.
Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame member Ken Ruettegers, NBA legend and Olympian John Stockton and mountain biking champion Kyle Warner all support Kennedy's presidential campaign, Fox News Digital reported Tuesday.
"I love the fact that he loves the Constitution and the Bill of Rights," Ruettegers said. "Man, that seems to have been eroded in our culture over the last couple decades."
He also said he supports Kennedy's stance on free-market capitalism and the middle class.
Stockton said he thinks there's a "real need" for Kennedy and that he could "un-divide this country."
Warner, who won the North American Enduro Championships from 2014-2016, said Kennedy "does a great job of being a populist and … understanding the plight of the common man."
Kennedy abandoned the Democratic primary last month and decided to run in the general election as an independent.
Polls have indicated that Kennedy may be a formidable contender in 2024, with a Quinnipiac survey earlier this month showing him at 22% support.
