House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain urged her party Thursday to tout their successes in the midterm campaign, claiming that "communism and crazy is on the ballot," for Democrats.

The speech occurred during the second night of the Republican midterm convention in Dallas, Texas. 

McClain, who is from Michigan, claimed the midterms in November are a "battle for the soul of the nation," and said voters should reject communism and socialism.

"It is a choice between common sense and communist crazy," she said. "Communism and crazy is on the ballot, ladies and gentlemen. This isn't your dad's communist party or Democrat Party. Excuse me. This is communism. 

"Cuba, North Korea, the Soviet Union. Every single time, communism brings the same result: ruin and despair," she continued. "If we lose, we may not have a country that we can recognize. We must win and keep building greatness and prosperity right here in the good old U.S. of A."

The chairwoman argued that Republicans can win the midterms if they focus on their accomplishments like President Donald Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill. 

"Under President Trump, we passed the largest tax cuts for working families in American history," she said. "We passed no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, no tax on Social Security, and the Trump accounts to help the next generation actually succeed. Those are real dollars for Americans to use."

McClain urged voters to hold Democrats accountable for voting against tax breaks, claiming they voted to "take money out of your pocket." 

"Make them own that they want money out of your pocket," she insisted. "Make them own that they voted no on the taxes because they did. Republicans kept more money in your pocket. Let me tell you, we are not finished. We are not even close. So let's win this thing."

The chairwoman's speech comes just 54 days before the general election, which will take place on Nov. 3.
