'I don't like those comments': Vance fires back at Laura Loomer's attacks on Harris's race
Vance said that Harris's race should not be the focus of the election.
Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, told NBC News's Meet the Press on Sunday that "I don't like those comments" about Vice President Kamala Harris's race from right-wing activist Laura Loomer.
Republicans and Democrats alike condemned Loomer for saying that a Harris White House "will smell like curry & White House speeches will be facilitated via a call center," NBC News reported.
"What Laura said about Kamala Harris is not what we should be focused on. We should be focused on the policy and on the issues," Vance told NBC News's Kristen Welker.
Welker asked whether the comments offended Vance and his Indian-American wife.
Vance said that he doesn't "look at the internet for every single thing to get offended by."
"I make a mean chicken curry, [but] I don’t think that it’s insulting for anybody to talk about their dietary preferences or what they want to do in the White House," Vance added.
