Iowa AG sues Biden admin for withholding noncitizen voter data
Earlier this year, it was reported that thousands of self-identified noncitizens registered have to vote in the state of Iowa.
Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird announced Tuesday that she would sue the Biden-Harris administration for allegedly withholding voter data on noncitizens.
"Biden & Harris know who the noncitizens are on our voter rolls & have refused to tell us," Bird wrote on the social media platform, X. "I’m suing for the Biden-Harris admin to finally hand over the election integrity data it has been hiding. We must secure all future elections & ensure this never happens again."
Earlier this year, it was reported that thousands of self-identified noncitizens have registered to vote in the state of Iowa.
According to an audit, 87 individuals self-reported that they were not citizens after they voted, 67 people said they did not vote and were not citizens and 2,022 individuals said they weren't citizens and later voted or registered to vote.
"It is a felony for noncitizens to either vote or register to vote, and we will work with the authorities to ensure that those who break the law are prosecuted to the fullest extent," Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate said in a statement following the audit.
An account backing GOP Iowa Sen. Grassley spoke in support of Bird.
"The Biden admin stonewalled Iowa’s requests for voter data at many levels including dodging @joniernst and my repeated inquiries and deadlines ahead of the November 5 election," the group wrote.
