Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, on Sunday defended his wife against racist attacks and former President Donald Trump's views on the abortion pill.

The Republican vice presidential nominee said to critics of his wife that "she's out of your league." He also reiterated he stands behind Trump's call for states to regulate access to the abortion pill.

"If these guys want to attack me or attack my views, my policy views, my personality, come after me. But don’t attack my wife," said Vance on ABC News' This Week.

Vance rose to defend his wife against white supremacists like Nick Fuentes, who criticized whether Vance would "support white identity" because he "has an Indian wife" and a child named Vivek, The Hill reported.

"Well, Donald Trump doesn’t know anything about, and frankly, doesn’t care for [Fuentes]," Vance fired back.

The interviewer reminded Vance of the time Trump invited Fuentes to dinner and that Trump has not directly condemned Fuentes, which Vance reportedly brushed off.

During a sit-down with CBS News' Face the Nation, Vance responded to allegations Trump wanted a federal ban on the abortion pill.

The interviewer suggested Trump's recent answer to a reporter's question on the matter suggested an openness to federal restrictions, The Hill reported.

Vance countered that Trump may have been unclear on what the reporter was asking.

"First of all, even some of the reporters who were in the room at that press conference said it wasn’t clear what the reporter was asking. Maybe he couldn’t hear that person super clearly," Vance said.

"What he said very clearly in the debate is that he agrees with the Supreme Court decision, but more importantly, he wants these decisions to be made by the states. I think that is the President Trump vision for the Republican Party," Vance added.
