Jewish Democrat group backs primary challengers against Reps. Bush and Bowman

The Jewish Democratic Council of America is backing primary challengers against Democrat Reps. Cori Bush and Jamaal Bowman, who have been critical of Israel's war with Hamas.

According to Axios, the pro-Israel nonprofit, is endorsing prosecutor Wesley Bell against Bush in Missouri and Westchester County Executive George Latimer against Bowman in New York.

Chief of staff Sam Crystal said the group, known as "Jewish Dems," endorses candidate who are focused on "the issues that Jewish voters are prioritizing."

Some of those issues include abortion rights, gun control and supporting Israel. 

Bush, Bowman and other "Squad" members such as Rep. Rashida Tlaib have been critical of Israel's military operations in Gaza and Tlaib is behind the "Free Palestine" movement.
