Kamala Harris gets off to rocky, awkward start at presidential debate
Harris introduced herself to Trump by giving her full name.
The 2024 presidential debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris got off to a rocky and awkward start on Tuesday as the Democratic presidential nominee introduced herself to the GOP presidential nominee.
As the two presidential nominees took the stage at the start of the debate, Harris walked over to Trump's side of the stage and introduced herself by giving her full name and saying, "Let's have a good debate," as Trump shook her hand and said, "Nice to see you. Have fun."
Harris' voice appeared to sound nervous and shaky as she answered the first question on whether voters were better off now, economically, than at the start of the Biden-Harris administration. Harris responded by saying what her economic plan is if she wins the White House, but she didn't say whether or not voters are better off now than they were four years ago.
