RFK Jr. says he doesn't know whether he'll support Democratic nominee if he loses primary
"My plan is to win this election, and I don't have a plan B," Kennedy said.
Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says he is unsure whether he will support the 2024 Democratic nominee if he fails to win the nomination.
He was asked during a town hall Wednesday on NewsNation whether he would pledge to support whoever the Democratic nominee is.
"Of course, I'm not going to do that," said Kennedy, a lifelong Democrat and part of the Kennedy dynasty. "I don't know what I'll do. ... Let's see what happens in this campaign."
Host Elizabeth Vargas followed up by asking whether he would support a Republican or run as an independent.
"My plan is to win this election, and I don't have a plan B," Kennedy responded.
Kennedy, while still behind President Biden in the race for the Democratic nomination, is gaining traction in the polls. Additionally, his favorability rating is higher than any 2024 presidential hopeful.
