Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s running mate has donated an additional $8 million to the independent presidential candidate's campaign.

Silicon Valley attorney Nicole Shanahan gave the additional funds to the campaign after previously contributing the same sum in April. Last month's contribution was to aid the signature collection effort to put Kennedy on the ballot in all 50 states, The Hill reported. Kennedy tapped Shanahan as his vice presidential pick in March.

Shanahan previously gave $2 million to the campaign one day after becoming Kennedy's vice presidential pick and also provided $4 million for the Super Bowl ad by American Values 2024, the Super PAC supporting Kennedy.

The vice presidential candidate announced the donation Wednesday night at a comedy show in Nashville.

“This isn’t just about funding our own campaign,” Shanahan said in a statement after the fundraising event. “We want to liberate presidential elections from the grip of the existing two-party duopoly, and revitalize American democracy.”

Kennedy's campaign has said that enough signatures have been collected for the candidate to be on the ballot in 14 states.

“The expense of ballot access — in both time and treasure — is one of the establishment’s most powerful cudgels against independent political thought,” Kennedy's campaign manager and daughter-n-law Amaryllis Kennedy said in a statement. “Americans demand and deserve an alternative to the broken status quo. We are thrilled to put these funds to work crossing the finish line in all 50 states plus DC.”
