Texas voters on Tuesday evening overwhelmingly passed a ballot measure to change the state constitution to bar non-citizens from voting in its elections.

The Associated Press projected the proposition to pass, with 74.9% of voters backing the plan and 25.1% opposing it as of press time. Sixty-four percent of precincts had reported their votes.
