Trump and Vance to appear for first joint sit-down interview with Fox News next week
The new pair will be interviewed by Fox News' Jesse Watters on Monday night, at 8 p.m. Eastern as part of "Jesse Watters Primetime."
Former President Donald Trump and his new running mate Ohio GOP Sen. JD Vance will have their first joint television interview next week, which will also be Trump's debut television interview since the assassination attempt last week.
The new pair will be interviewed by Fox News' Jesse Watters on Monday night, at 8 p.m. Eastern as part of "Jesse Watters Primetime."
Trump announced Vance as his running mate during the first night of the Republican convention in Milwaukee, where they were later officially nominated as the party's presidential and vice presidential candidates.
"After lengthy deliberation and thought, and considering the tremendous talents of many others, I have decided that the person best suited to assume the position of Vice President of the United States is Senator J.D. Vance of the Great State of Ohio," Trump posted on Truth Social.
The former president went on to cite the first-term senator's qualifications and story as a working-class man who became a Marine, and then went to college. He eventually ended up working in finance before turning to politics.
"J.D.’s book, 'Hillbilly Elegy,' became a Major Best Seller and Movie, as it championed the hardworking men and women of our Country," Trump continued. "Now, during the Campaign, will be strongly focused on the people he fought so brilliantly for, the American Workers and Farmers in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Minnesota, and far beyond," he concluded.
