Trump to counter Dem convention with swing state tour
The blitz will include a visit to the border to discuss immigration
Former President Donald Trump announced a bid to counter Vice President Kamala Harris and the Democrats during their Chicago Convention. Trump and his allies will engage in a swing state blitz during the Democratic National Convention (DNC).
Trump will hold events focusing on immigration, the economy and crime, The Hill reported.
He will talk about the economy on Monday in Pennsylvania, crime on Tuesday in Michigan, and national security on Wednesday in North Carolina.
During a Thursday visit to Arizona, Trump will address immigration and visit the U.S.–Mexico border at Montezuma Pass. He will talk in front of unfinished sections of the wall he pushed in his first term.
Friday events in Nevada and Arizona will wrap up the blitz.
"At the DNC, Kamala Harris will hide behind celebrities because everyday families know that she has been an absolute disaster for our nation, and real Americans are worse off now than four years ago," Trump advisers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles said.
Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, Trump's running mate, will hold swing state events during the upcoming week in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Georgia. Vance will join Trump for a North Carolina event.
