President Trump on Tuesday night signed a pardon for a Nevada man who after being convicted as a bank robber started an organization that helps prisoners reintegrate into society.

“We live in a nation of second chances,” said the recipient Jon Ponder, standing alongside Trump in a video presentation at the Republican National Convention.

Ponder founded the nonprofit Hope For Prisoners.

Trump said before he signed the pardon: “Jon’s life is a beautiful testament to the power of redemption.”
