VP Harris’ husband Doug Emhoff admits to cheating on first wife after report he impregnated nanny
The New York Post said that news of the affair and reported pregnancy is reportedly causing serious concern in Harris’ camp despite the bump in the polls she has received.
Vice President Kamala Harris’s husband, Doug Emhoff, acknowledged Saturday having had an affair with the nanny to his kids during his first marriage, which resulted in the end of that marriage. His acknowledgment came after the British newspaper, The Daily Mail, first reported on the incident.
“During my first marriage, Kerstin and I went through some tough times on account of my actions. I took responsibility, and in the years since, we worked through things as a family and have come out stronger on the other side,” Emhoff said in a statement provided exclusively to CNN.
The woman, Najen Naylor, 47, who also was a teacher at an expensive private school for one of Emhoff’s kids, did not deny the story when approached by the Daily Mail at her home in the Hamptons on Long Island, New York. Her only comment at the time was, “I’m kind of freaked out right now.”
The Daily Mail reported that during the affair, Naylor became pregnant, according to a close friend, who said she “did not keep the child.” CNN attempted to get a comment from that friend but did not hear back.
