With pollsters, the prediction markets, and mainstream media predicting a blue wave, or blue tsunami in Tuesday's elections, the wait is almost over. Early returns are in, but with technical problems at a number of polling locations, and lawyers from both sides watching for any chance to intervene, the final results may not be known for several days.

Polling locations in multiple states have reported experiencing technical issues so far on Election Day, including polling places in Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.

Issues were reported early Tuesday morning in New York, when voting machines across polling sites in Westchester County were facing issues after ballot scanners stopped accepting votes. The issues started when polls opened at 6 a.m.

The county’s election officials have instructed voters to continue filling out the papers, which will be placed in designated orange emergency ballot bags and will be secured and counted later.
