West Virginia Democratic Senator Joe Manchin is renewing his criticism of the Biden administration's ongoing attacks on the natural gas industry, this time zeroing in on his Department of Energy's (DOE) attempts to take out gas-powered stoves.

In January, Commissioner Richard Trumka of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) implied a ban of gas stoves could be on the table, calling them a "hidden hazard" for people's health. Since then, the DOE has announced moving forward with a ban on incandescent light bulbs and is finalizing an "energy-efficiency" proposal for household gas furnaces.

Speaking exclusively to Fox News Digital, Manchin said the growing hostility towards conventional energy appliances shows how "disconnected" DOE is from "facts and reality[s]" of our power grid, which he says is known to be "strained to say the least."

Last month, the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) warned that the majority of the U.S. grid is susceptible to energy shortages due to the speedy transition towards renewable energy.

"If you want a clean environment, then you have to do it through technology and innovation," Sen. Manchin continued. America "cannot eliminate [its] way" to it.

Manchin has been a consistent opponent of his fellow Democrats' "radical climate agenda." He's recently refused to support any of the President's EPA nominees until he stops the "government overreach," and said he'll vote with Republicans to repeal the Inflation Reduction Act over the administration's seemingly forced green transition.
