Vantage Data Centers, a provider of hyperscale data center campuses, and Volta Grid, a microgrid company, announced a partnership to deliver rapid, scalable energy solutions to markets where grid power options are limited. 

Under the agreement, VoltaGrid will deploy more than one gigawatt (GW) of prime power generation capacity across Vantage’s expanding North America portfolio, ensuring hyperscale customers have the reliable electrical infrastructure they require without delays.

Partnering with VoltaGrid is an ideal solution to deploy capacity in constrained power markets to meet customer demand for new and innovative technologies that will bring social and economic benefits,” Dana Adams, president, North America at Vantage Data Centers, said in a statement. 

The partnership, according to the announcement, will produce rapid deployment of energy solutions and the ability to scale with the customer requirements. The microgrid will be powered with natural gas, with up to 98% emissions reduction specifically from criteria air pollutants. The emissions control technologies that will be used in the microgrid, according to VoltaGrid, will allow for expedited permitting.
