Wind turbine collapses on clear, windless day
The Killdare Fire Department in Oklahoma posted numerous photos of the crumbled tower on its Facebook page.
A wind turbine north of Oklahoma City collapsed this week into a pile of broken metal, scattering debris around the base of the machine.
The Killdare Fire Department received a call about a downed wind turbine around 7:20 a.m., The Oklahoman reported. The incident took place on a private farm east of Killdare, about 115 miles north of Oklahoma city.
The department posted numerous photos of the crumbled tower on its Facebook page. Officials from the Killdare Fire Department told ABC affiliate KOCO 5 that the collapse is "bizarre" and its cause unknown. No injuries or fire were reported.
