Federal judge signs off on 'paint tests' for iconic D.C. office building

U.S. District Judge Dabney Freidrich on Tuesday allowed the Trump administration to move forward with "paint tests" in preparation for a plan to paint the Eisenhower Executive Office Building white.
The proposal, like many of Trump's efforts to restore or "beautify" the nation's capital, has brought a series of legal challenges. But Freidrich found that the paint test, which would only apply to 8 square feet of the building that are not visible to the public, would not cause irreparable harm, The Hill reported.
The EEOB is a French Second Empire style building that is part of the White House compound. The building houses the offices of the vice president and many executive agency aides.
The building is currently painted grey, a shade Trump has criticized.
