Fetterman calls on Senate to expel Menendez after House boots Santos
The House of Representatives voted 311-214 to expel Santos.
Pennsylvania Democratic Sen. John Fetterman on Friday again called for the Sente to expel New Jersey Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez after the House expelled former New York Republican Rep. George Santos earlier in the day.
Menendez has faced allegations of acting as a foreign agent on behalf of the Egyptian government. He has pleaded not guilty and resisted calls for his resignation, though he did step down as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
During an appearance on "The View," Fetterman stated that "We have a colleague in the Senate that actually does much more sinister and serious kinds of things: Sen. Menendez. He needs to go. And if you are going to expel Santos, how can you allow somebody like Menendez to remain in the Senate?"
The House of Representatives voted 311-214 to expel Santos amid a federal indictment against him on 23 counts and a House Ethics Committee report accusing him of a litany of improprieties.
