Former NY Sen. James Buckley dies at 100
Buckley was the brother of noted conservative intellectual William F. Buckley Jr., who founded the National Review.
Former New York Sen. James Buckley died on Friday at the age of 100.
While the cause of death remains unknown, Buckley's son confirmed his passing to the Washington Post. He was the oldest living current or former senator.
He served a single term in the Senate, winning election on the Conservative Party of New York ticket in 1970. He was defeated in his 1976 reelection bid.
