GOP Rep. Boebert booted from Colorado theater over 'disturbance': Report
The Colorado Republican has since stated that she enjoyed the performance and admitted that she expressed herself too loudly during the show.
Colorado Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert was escorted out of a Colorado theater Sunday evening for reportedly disturbing a performance.
The lawmaker was attending a showing of "Beetlejuice" in Denver and was reportedly vaping and "causing a disturbance," the Denver Post reported. Buell Theatre stated that they issued a warning to two individuals, one of whom the Post confirmed was Boebert, during intermission after receiving multiple complaints. Boebert's campaign confirmed she was ejected from the theater, but denied that she had vaped during the performance.
"I can confirm the stunning and salacious rumors: in her personal time, Congresswoman Lauren Boebert is indeed a supporter of the performing arts (gasp!) and, to the dismay of a select few, enthusiastically enjoyed a weekend performance of 'Beetlejuice,'" campaign manager Drew Sexton told the outlet. Sexton further confirmed that Boebert had taken a photo using her phone, but did not know that doing so was forbidden.
An incident report the outlet obtained, however, quotes ushers as saying that the patrons refused to leave when prompted and forced them to call Denver Police. It does not mention Boebert by name.
The Colorado Republican has since stated that she enjoyed the performance and admitted that she expressed herself too loudly during the show.
"It's true, I did thoroughly enjoy the AMAZING Beetlejuice at the Buell Theatre and I plead guilty to laughing and singing too loud! Everyone should go see it if you get the chance this week and please let me know how it ends!" she posted on X on Tuesday evening.
