Kyle Rittenhouse walks back refusal to vote for not 'pro-gun enough' Trump
Rittenhouse walked back his comments in less than 12 hours
In under 12 hours, Kyle Rittenhouse backed off his promise to vote for Ron Paul over former President Donald Trump because "Trump was not pro-gun enough."
"Hi, I'm Kyle Rittenhouse, outreach director for Texas Gun Rights. A lot of people are upset that I said that I am going to be writing in Ron Paul for President of the United States, and that is true. I will be writing in Ron Paul," Rittenhouse announced on X in a video.
The video explained Rittenhouse's reasoning, Fox News reported.
"Unfortunately, Donald Trump had bad advisors making him bad on the Second Amendment and that is my issue. If you can not be completely uncompromisable on the Second Amendment, I will not vote for you and I will write somebody else in," Rittenhouse said.
"We need champions for the Second Amendment or our rights will be eaten away and eroded each day. I support my decision and I have no takebacks."
Rittenhouse quickly walked back this pledge after "productive conversations" with the Trump campaign.
Rittenhouse urged "every gun owner to join me in helping send [Trump] back to the White House."
