Doctor removed cancerous lesion from Biden's chest during last physical
"The site of the biopsy has healed nicely and the President will continue dermatologic surveillance as part of his ongoing comprehensive healthcare," he said.
Presdient Joe Biden has a cancerous lesion removed from his chest during his last annual physical, his doctor confirmed this week.
Dr. Kevin O’Connor indicated on Friday that all cancerous material from a basal cell carcinoma had been removed successfully, The Hill reported.
"The site of the biopsy has healed nicely and the President will continue dermatologic surveillance as part of his ongoing comprehensive healthcare," he said.
After the physical, O'Connor declared Biden to be a "healthy, vigorous, 80-year-old male, who is fit to successfully execute the duties of the Presidency, to include those as Chief Executive, Head of State and Commander in Chief."
The revelation comes amid mounting concerns over Biden's advanced age as he mulls whether to seek a second term in the White House. At 80, Biden is the oldest person to have ever served as a U.S. president.
