Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was hospitalized after sustaining an injury in Luxembourg during an event marking the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge.

"While traveling with a bipartisan congressional delegation in Luxembourg to mark the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the bulge, Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi sustained an injury during an official engagement and was admitted to the hospital for evaluation," a spokesperson confirmed Friday.

It's unclear how the 84-year-old Pelosi was injured or the extent of her injuries. But her spokesperson also the California Democratic congresswoman is unable to attend the remainder of the CODEL engagements,” he said.

The Battle of the Bulge was one of the last serious German offensives of World War II and sought to halt the advance of the Allies through western Europe. It was unsuccessful.

Her injury comes in the wake of former Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell sustaining an unrelated injury via a fall after a lunch meeting this week.
