Professor of Medicine at Stanford University and public health expert Jayanta Bhattacharya called out President Joe Biden over his recent vaccine comments, saying he "comes across as a pharmaceutical company salesman."

"If you're going to be the pharmaceutical company's best spokesman as the president of the United States, at the very least have a randomized trial to point to so it says that it works when you say it works," Bhattacharya said on the Wednesday edition of the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show.

President Biden Joe Biden announced earlier this month that he will request more funding from Congress for a new COVID-19 vaccine.

“I signed off this morning on a proposal we have to present to the Congress a request for additional funding for a new vaccine that is necessary, that works,” he said Friday.

He added that “that everybody get it,” once the shots are ready, according to PBS.

"I don't know of a randomized trial of this new booster," said Bhattacharya. "I've been searching the public airwaves for this or some evidence, like the FDA site or something. But there is no randomized evidence."

He went on to say that vaccines can't just be treated like more common shots.

"You can't just treat this booster as if it were just a flu vaccine booster," he explained. "It's not. It's a very different mechanism and we don't have very much experience with it."
