Rep. Byron Donalds predicts voters will remember Biden's record, realize what issues impact them
Donalds said that issues voters care about include the economy and weakness on the world stage.
Congressman Byron Donalds, R-Fla., predicted Thursday that voters will remember what issues impact them when watching the upcoming presidential debate between President Joe Biden and presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump.
Trump and Biden are expected to square off in the first presidential debate that will be held on CNN on Thursday.
The debate will begin at 9 p.m. EST and be moderated by anchors Jake Tapper and Dana Bash.
Donalds advised that if the moderators tried to bring something irrelevant up in the debate against Trump, that he should steer it towards Biden's record.
"The point that you use to redirect is, 'But Joe, you've been president for the last three and a half years and look at what you've done,'" Donalds said on the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "Because that transition point ... I think has the voters say, 'yeah, why did they keep talking about that? That really does not impact me.'"
Donalds said that issues voters care about include the economy and weakness on the world stage.
"I think you're gonna have a clear and distinct choice about who should be the next President of the United States. Obviously, it's Donald J. Trump," Donalds said.
