The House of Representatives on Thursday approved a measure extending temporary protected status (TPS) for Haitians as the Trump administration has sought to end the status.

The Trump administration ended TPS for Haiti in June of last year, though a federal judge blocked its expiration. Roughly 350,000 people from Haiti have received TPS.

The House vote saw 10 Republicans join with Democrats to approve the measure 224-204. Should it reach President Donald Trump's desk, he will likely veto it. Rep. Kevin Kiley, I-Calif., voted in favor.

The vote, however, represents a notable rebellion from moderate Republicans over the Trump administration's immigration policy, which has seen many establishment Republicans voice concerns over the loss of laborers from mass deportations.
