House Republicans meet Hegseth to discuss Pentagon's $350B ask
Trump on Wednesday evening urged Congress to spend an additional $350 billion to revitalize the military amid the resumption of hostilities in the Iran war.
A group of House Republicans on Thursday visited the Pentagon to discuss a supplemental spending request from the Department of War with Secretary Pete Hegseth.
The meeting saw Reps. Jodey Arrington, R-Texas, and August Pfluger, R-Texas, among others, met with the war secretary in the wake of Trump's public demand for a third reconciliation bill, Politico reported.
Trump on Wednesday evening urged Congress to spend an additional $350 billion to revitalize the military amid the resumption of hostilities in the Iran war.
"I am hereby calling on Republicans in Congress to IMMEDIATELY advance and pass the forthcoming $350 Billion Reconciliation Bill (Recon 3.0) — which, at the request of our Great Department of War — will include THE SAVE AMERICA ACT as well. No games, no delays, and no weak compromises! Do this ASAP," he posted on Truth Social.
