Hunter Biden sold art to Democratic donor whom father appointed to prestigious board: report

First son Hunter Biden reportedly sold his artwork to a prominent Democratic donor, whom his father appointed to a prestigious commission, Business Insider has reported.

Some of the first son's art has featured in the Georges Bergès Gallery in SoHo, with some pieces listing for as much as $85,000. Amid controversy over the art sales, Hunter Biden's team stated that it had created a process to vet buyers and that the identities of the prospective purchasers were known only to the art gallery.

Citing "three people directly familiar" with the matter, Insider reported that the first son ultimately did learn the names of two of his buyers, one of whom is Elizabeth Hirsh Naftali, whom Biden tapped to serve on the Commission for the Preservation of America's Heritage Abroad.

Naftali, the outlet reported, gave $13,414 to the Biden campaign and $29,700 to the Democratic National Campaign Committee in 2023.

The timing of Naftali's purchase of Hunter's art remains unknown and the outlet did not name the second buyer whose identity Hunter allegedly learned.
