Job Creators Network urges Congress to reject border bill

As Republicans in the House and Senate line up to oppose the recently unveiled bipartisan legislation pairing aid to Israel and Ukraine with border security reforms, the Job Creators Network is joining their ranks, urging Congress to reject the plan and warning of the need to address surging crime and drug trafficking.

The Job Creators Network is a small business advocacy organization. The legislation, it contends, will fail to adequately address the ongoing surge in illegal migration and drug trafficking that adversely impact the American labor force.

"The impact to our citizens and community has never been greater, and our small businesses are feeling the brunt of the impact every day with record levels of crime at their storefronts and a labor force being poisoned by fentanyl," JCN President Alfredo Ortiz said. "Our members, like all Americans, are in desperate need of immediate action at the border to restore safety to our communities, but the newly proposed Senate legislation to address the issue is not the answer. We urge the House and Senate to reject it outright and call it out for what it is: nothing more than window dressing at best."

It remains unclear whether the bill will clear the upper chamber, as Republicans have indicated they plan to block a procedural vote to delay its consideration on the Senate floor.
