WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange returned to social media this month, after a years-long hiatus due largely to his legal woes, and announced that his wife is pregnant.

"I'm back," he posted earlier this month. He later corrected a post from Polymarket stating that it had been absent from X for two years, clarifying that he had personally been gone from the platform for eight.

On Monday, he posted "#OctoberSurprise" while quote-posting his wife, Stella, who announced her pregnancy. It is still September.

Assange spent years in the Ecuadorian embassy in London while seeking to avoid extradition. He later posted leaked materials from the Democratic National Committee and, eventually, CIA materials on surveillance.

He reached a plea agreement with U.S. prosecutors in 2024 and is now in Australia.
