Kennedy campaign says he's made North Carolina ballot

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s campaign on Monday indicated that he had qualified to appear on the North Carolina ballot under the "We the People" party.

Kennedy previously mounted a Democratic primary challenge to President Joe Biden, but ultimately opted for an independent run and has since emerged as the most formidable third-party candidate in the election cycle by polling. His appearance on the ballot in the Old North State could potentially impact the contest in the pivotal battleground, with some data suggesting he is poised to draw more support from Biden than former President Donald Trump.

"We have the field teams, volunteers, legal teams, paid circulators, supporters, and strategists ready to get the job done," the campaign stated Monday, according to The Hill. Including North Carolina, Kennedy has qualified to appear on the Utah, Hawaii, and  New Hampshire. He secured sufficient signatures to appear on the Nevada ballot prior to naming his running mate, which could impact his qualification, the outlet noted.

As of late February, he had also secured enough signatures to make the Georgia and Arizona ballots, two of the most pivotal swing states, both of which broke for Trump in 2016 but flipped to Biden the following cycle.

Last month, he announced Nicole Shanahan, a long-time donor to progressive politicians, as his running mate.
