Lake leads GOP field for 2024 Senate race: poll
Despite a potential runaway primary in her favor, Lake is likely to struggle in the general election, which is poised to be a rare three-way race.
Former Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake is leading the field of potential GOP nominees for the state's Senate contest in 2024.
Lake announced her candidacy in October, facing Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb and businessman Brian Wright in the Republican primary. She previously lost the 2022 gubernatorial contest to then-Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs in a contest she continues to insist was mired in election fraud.
The latest Noble Predictive Insights survey showed Lake attracting 40% support among primary voters, while Lamb took 14% and Wright took 4%. A further 10% backed former Arizona GOP Senate candidate Blake Masters, who has opted for a congressional bid in 2024. Thirty-three percent were undecided.
NPI CEO Mike Noble highlighted Masters' decision not to run and suggested most of his support would break for Lake,.
"Lake is in the driver's seat in the GOP primary contest, meanwhile, Mark Lamb needs to step up his fundraising if he wants to mount a serious challenge to Lake," he continued.
Despite a potential runaway primary in her favor, Lake will likely struggle in the general election, which is poised to be a rare three-way race between incumbent independent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, Democratic candidate Ruben Gallego, and herself. Sinema won election as a Democrat but later left the party.
In that matchup, Gallego appeared the clear frontrunner, earning 39%, to Lake's 33%, to Sinema's 29%.
Conducted Oct. 25-31, the survey has a margin of error of +/- 3.1%.
