Marianne Williamson confirms her plans for 2024 presidential run
Williamson is preparing to mount a challenge to President Joe Biden, her second run for the Democratic nomination.
Former Democratic presidential candidate Marianne Williamson is preparing to mount a challenge to President Joe Biden in 2024.
"We're on the phone, but if we were on FaceTime, you'd see me wink," she told Medill News Service on Thursday when asked about her 2024 plans. "I wouldn't be running for president if I didn't believe I could contribute to harnessing the collective sensibility that I feel is our greatest hope at this time."
Williamson contended that the nation's politicians either lacked the will to address national issues or the interest in fixing them.
"People who run the government are divided into two categories, those who either don't care to fix it, or do not have the spine to fix it," she said. "And neither category should be running this country."
The Hollywood spiritual guru previously mounted a 2020 campaign, competing alongside the multitude of Democratic challengers to former President Donald Trump, but ultimately lost out to now-President Joe Biden.
