Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Thursday took a swipe at the House Freedom Caucus amid a mounting internal standoff within the conference over supplemental spending that has seen some overtly threaten to challenge House Speaker Kevin McCarthy's leadership.

The caucus booted Greene from its ranks in July of this year following a string of high-profile spats between her and its other members, especially Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert. She previously broke ranks with the group to support McCarthy in the speakership contest earlier this year.

"I'm not a member of the burn-it-all-down caucus anymore. I'm a greatly, very happily a free agent and I want to do my job here," Greene said, according to The Hill.

Greene has become a close ally of the House speaker, who has long traded barbs with her former confederates. The group reached a deal with McCarthy earlier this year to support his leadership in exchange of a laundry list of concessions.

Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz, a close ally of the caucus, this week insisted McCarthy has not honored the deal and suggested House conservatives would move to end his leadership unless he followed through on his commitments.

"I rise today to serve notice. Mr. Speaker, you are out of compliance with the agreement that allowed you to assume this role. The path forward for the House of Representatives is to either bring you into immediate total compliance or remove you, pursuant to a motion to vacate the chair," Gaetz said Tuesday.
