Mark Kelly, Blake Masters in tight race for Arizona Senate seat: poll
Kelly maintains a clear, 13-point lead among women, while Masters commands a 10-point lead with men.
Arizona Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly is facing a tight race against his Trump-backed Republican challenger, Blake Masters, according to the latest Emerson College poll.
The survey, released Friday, found Kelly with 47% support to Masters's 45%, a difference within the margin of error, The Hill reported.
Kelly maintains a clear, 13-point lead among women, while Masters commands a 10-point lead with men, Emerson College polling executive director Spencer Kimball told the outlet.
The poll is one of the first to show Masters within striking distance of his Democratic rival. A Trafalgar Group poll in late August found Kelly with a 4-point lead, while a Fox 10 poll, conducted concurrently with the Emerson survey showed Kelly up six points.
The RealClearPolitics polling average shows Kelly up four points overall.
Arizona broke for Donald Trump in 2016, but flipped blue in 2020. The Senate race in the state is one of the most pivotal flashpoints in the battle for the upper chamber.
