House Speaker Mike Johnson appears to have seen his approval rating recover somewhat as Congress pushes the "big, beautiful bill", with the Louisiana lawmaker in the black in a recent poll.

Overall, Johnson enjoyed a 38% favorability rating in the latest Napolitan News Survey, with 34% finding him unfavorable. In April, only 32% viewed him favorably, while 37% viewed him unfavorably.

It represents a dramatic turnaround for Johnson, who has long attracted ire from the MAGA base over his concessions to moderates and struggles to advance key legislation.

Johnson himself has been in the spotlight lately after securing House passage of the "big beautiful bill" and more recently, has traded barbs with Elon Musk over its effects on the deficit.

Conducted May 28-29, the survey questioned 1,000 registered voters and has a margin of error of +/- 31.%.
