Mike Pence to appear at CNN town hall in Iowa
The former vice president has largely fallen out of favor with Trump supporters, due in large part to his refusal to intervene in the certification of the 2020 presidential election results, which Trump insists were mired in fraud.
Former Vice President Mike Pence will feature at a CNN town hall event in Iowa next month.
Dana Bash will host the June 7 event at Grand View University in Des Moines, the network announced Thursday.
Pence has attracted attention as a potential Republican challenger to former President Donald Trump in the 2024 primary and polling data shows him consistently placing third in the race, behind Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Pence's appearance on the network will follow that of Trump himself earlier this month. The former president participated in a CNN town hall in New Hampshire during which the network attracted a considerable audience, but ultimately drew flak from its left-wing viewership and even its own on-air talent.
The event largely featured Trump talking over moderator Kaitlan Collins while she attempted to challenge him on his positions, but to no avail.
The network has also announced it will host a town hall with former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley in Iowa on June 4 which Jake Tapper will moderate. Haley, unlike Pence, has officially announced her campaign.
